The countdown to Christmas is on… And that means much of the industry is slowing down. As freeze changes and - well, the weather - impact fibre builds, I’ve been thinking a bit about how we can avoid this for our partners.
In the unlikely event you don’t already know, "freeze change" refers to a set period of time in which non-essential changes to networks and systems are ’frozen’ (stopped) as councils halt permits which enable streetwork to be undertaken. It typically happens during critical times, such as major holidays (like Christmas) or significant events (like Royal Wedding or major sporting final), to make sure the network stays stable and reliable. In theory, a freeze change helps maintain uninterrupted service.
