After a company-wide vote, the results were unanimous: the team at Elevate is incredibly proud to announce our official partnership with Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
Alder Hey is more than just a hospital; it is a place where world-class medical care meets a sense of wonder. Their mission is to make the hospital experience less scary for children and their families—a cause that resonated deeply with every one of us here at Elevate.
Why Elevate Voted for Alder Hey
Alder Hey is one of the world’s leading children’s healthcare providers, treating over 1,200 children and young people every single day. As their mission states, they strive for a "healthier, happier, and fairer future" where every child can reach their full potential.
What moved the Elevate team most is their commitment to "Alder Hey Magic." The charity raises vital funds to provide the "over and above" enhancements that the NHS alone cannot cover—from life-saving equipment to the tiny details that bring a smile to a child’s face during their toughest moments.
Our Visit: Meeting the Team and Feeling the Magic
To kick off our partnership, members of the Elevate team were lucky enough to be invited for a tour of the hospital by the amazing charity team, Elinor and Hannah. Their passion for the children and the facility is infectious, and they gave us a behind-the-scenes look at how Elevate's support will make a tangible difference.
A Touch of Magic with Barrington
One of the highlights of our day was meeting Barrington the Magician. Barrington visits the wards twice a week to perform for the children. Seeing a child’s eyes light up with a card trick or a sleight of hand in the middle of a hospital corridor reminded us exactly why we chose this charity. It’s about more than just medicine; it’s about preserving childhood, even in a hospital bed.
State-of-the-Art Facilities: Leading the Way
During our tour with Elinor and Hannah, we were shown some of the incredible facilities that our partnership will help support:
The New Surgical Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
We saw the ground-breaking new Surgical Neonatal unit. This is a UK-first facility designed to keep families together. It features 18 individual family rooms where parents can stay alongside their newborns while they receive expert care. This eliminates the need for stressful transfers and ensures that the very first moments of a baby’s life are spent surrounded by love and world-class technology.
The MediCinema: Better Than the Red Carpet!
We were blown away by the MediCinema. This state-of-the-art cinema allows children even those in hospital beds or wheelchairs to watch the latest blockbusters with their families.
The coolest part? Because of Alder Hey's amazing partnerships, the children sometimes get to see films before the stars hit the red carpet at Leicester Square’s Odeon! It’s a place of pure escape where children can forget they are in a hospital and just be kids for a couple of hours.

Choosing Alder Hey as our Charity of the Year is a commitment from every single person at Elevate. We aren't just donors; we are "Magic Makers." Throughout the year, we will be attending fundraisers, sharing updates, and doing everything we can to support the charity and all the amazing work they are doing!
