gunnercooke is an international law firm based in Manchester, with partners working across every corner of the globe. As a law firm handling large volumes of sensitive client information, gunnercooke needed connectivity that was fast, secure and dependable enough to support the business without a second thought. Moving to a bigger office raised the stakes further — the switch had to happen without disrupting day-to-day operations, and the new setup needed to be resilient enough that a single fault, anywhere in the chain, couldn't take the whole office offline.
Because the building already had a live Elevate Preconnect® installation, along with an existing wayleave and an established relationship with the building's manager and landlord, much of the groundwork was already in place before gunnercooke even moved in letting the whole process progress far more smoothly.
Elevate's account manager worked with gunnercooke while they planned the new office layout, using intelligent WiFi heat mapping solutions — mapping desks and breakout spaces before a single cable was run. That planning meant the switch from their existing connection to the new one was straightforward, with the guesswork taken out from the start.
For resilience, Elevate built in full route diversity: two separate entry points into the building, two exchanges, separate ducts and separate datacentres, so there's no crossover at any single point of failure, backed by an automatic backup connection. For security, Elevate installed and manages a pair of Fortinet firewalls racked in gunnercooke's own data room — giving the firm full oversight while Elevate handles the day-to-day management.
Altogether, gunnercooke's setup brought four of Elevate's capabilities together in one deployment: resilient connectivity, automatic backup, Fortinet-managed firewall protection, and a Juniper Mist AI native network.
The entire process was managed end-to-end by a single Elevate account manager. gunnercooke no longer has to think about the risk of one fault — like a damaged cable — knocking the office offline; the backup connection kicks in automatically, and people carry on working. With Elevate managing the underlying infrastructure, gunnercooke's team can go direct to Elevate on any issue, without adding it to their own workload.
